Consultation Process
When booking your initial consultation you will be provided with an online New Patient History form (if you are unable to complete this online, you will be provided a form when you arrive at the clinic). During your initial consultation, your Chiropractor will take a further detailed history regarding your condition and perform a thorough physical examination. This may include:
Gait Analysis
Postural Analysis
Range of Motion Testing (Active & Passive)
Orthopaedic Testing
Neurologic Testing
Referral for Imaging if required
Following your comprehensive history and physical examination, your Chiropractor will then provide you with an explanation of your condition, treatment options available, and the recommended treatment and management plan based upon your diagnosis.
After providing informed consent, your Chiropractor will utilise the appropriate treatment which may involve a combination of adjustments and other specialised techniques such as Dry Needling, Exercise Rehabilitation, Sports Taping, Neuro-Emotional Technique and more.

What Is An Adjustment?
An adjustment is the technique chiropractors use to manipulate and mobilise your joints with their hands. There are a number of different methods of adjustments that use various degrees of hand pressure and specialised equipment, including:
Using the hands to press or push
Using mechanical instruments
Placing wedges under the body
Using mechanical tables
You may be adjusted while standing, sitting or lying down depending on your symptoms, age, mobility, health history and our best practice advice. Sometimes you may hear a ‘crack’ or ‘pop’ sound (known as a joint cavitation) during an adjustment, this is usually painless and our practitioners are happy to accommodate your treatment preferences and balance these with the health outcomes you are looking for.

What Is The Sound?
Joints are where two bones connect, these ‘joints’ contain a fluid capsule (filled with synovial fluid) that acts as a lubricant, allowing the joint to move freely. This fluid contains nitrous oxide gas, and when a manual adjustment is performed there is a small separation of these joint surfaces, this stretches the joint capsule. As the fluid-filled capsule stretches, gas is rapidly released from the joint which then release gas bubbles.
These gas bubbles are what produce the ‘crack’ or ‘pop’ sound.space
