What Is Neuro Emotional Technique (NET)

Neuro Emotional Technique (NET) is a mind-body approach that focuses on the treatment of stress-related conditions. NET recognises and alleviates neurological imbalances that are associated with physiology and unresolved stress.

Benefits of Neuro Emotional Technique (NET)

Neuro Emotional Technique (NET) is beneficial in treating stress-related conditions and aiding the body’s physical response to stress.

NET has done its own published research on what is occurring in the brain during NET treatments. Some of these studies include functional MRI’s (imaging) of cancer patients before and after treatment and they found that their trauma responses had decreased with NET treatment.

Another study assessed people with lower back pain and found that compared to the placebo group the people who had received 8 NET treatments had, “produced clinically and statistically significant reductions in pain, disability and inflammatory biomarkers, and improvements in quality-of-life measures.”

What To Expect With Neuro Emotional Technique (NET) Treatment

NET Initial Consultations include a comprehensive history and assessment, to aid in the history you will complete a specific NET Wellness Check.

Treatments involve the use of muscle testing (kinesiology testing), and may also be combined with chiropractic techniques in order to assess and treat the issues.

NET is a combination of various chiropractic principles that primarily utilises Muscle Testing, the Physiology of Emotions, Pavlovian Response (classical behavioural conditioning), Acupuncture Meridians, Repetition Compulsion, Memory and Physiological Response.

How Did Neuro Emotional Technique (NET) Originate?

Neuro Emotional Technique (NET) was created and refined by Dr Scott Walker and Dr Deb Walker (Chiropractors) who live in America.

It has no religious bias and is suitable for anyone who is emotionally stable. NET treats the nervous system and its responses to certain signals that impact our body.

For example, if you have a phobia of snakes and see a stick while walking, you can think for a moment that the stick is a snake and get a fight or flight reaction. Even if you look back and realise it was only a stick, your body has already responded with an increased heart rate in preparation to fight or run from the snake. This is what NET treats, calming the physical response of the body and the nervous system to enable the person to use their frontal cortex of their brain (the highest ‘thinking’ area of the brain), not the emotional area of the brain, in order to allow the brain to accurately assess the situation and change its physical response accordingly.
